Deuces Wild at abc365 — Full Guide to the Wild Card Video Poker Game
Four 2s that can stand in for any card — Deuces Wild is a card game where strategy and luck combine for tense moments. At abc365, this game is available in both digital and live formats.
How a round plays out
Deuces Wild is a variant of video poker. A round begins when the player places a bet and receives five cards from a standard 52-card deck. After seeing this initial hand, the player decides which cards to keep and which to replace. New cards from the deck fill in for the discarded ones and the final hand is formed.
The core feature of this game is that all four 2s (deuces) in the deck act as wilds. That means a 2 can substitute for any card of any value and any suit. This makes certain hands easier to form, but the pay table is adjusted accordingly.
At the end of a round, if the final hand meets the required minimum ranking, the player wins. In Deuces Wild, the minimum winning hand is generally Three of a Kind — slightly higher than in regular Jacks or Better poker. That one difference changes the nature of the game considerably.
Bet types and payout structure
Hand values and how they pay
The Deuces Wild pay table follows the same structure as regular poker, but the wild cards add certain special hands. The table below gives a brief overview of each hand type and how many times the bet it returns. Exact multipliers depend on the specific table and the active pay table at abc365.
Pay table multipliers may vary by table at abc365. Check the active pay table before placing your bet.
The role of the deuce card
Every 2 card acts as any card in any hand. Having even one deuce can turn a weak hand into a strong one — that is the main appeal of this game.
Four Deuces — rare but valuable
Getting all four 2s together is extremely rare. When it happens, it is among the highest-paying hands on the pay table. A Natural Royal Flush pays the most because it uses no wild cards.
House edge — what percentage goes to the house?
The house edge is the theoretical percentage that favors the casino over the long run. In Deuces Wild, playing with correct strategy can keep the house edge quite low compared to many video poker variants — it is known as one of the more player-friendly games in the poker family.
However, this advantage only holds when the player follows correct strategy. Holding cards at random raises the house edge significantly. The house edge also varies by pay table, so it is worth checking the active pay table at abc365 before you play.
Generally speaking, playing Deuces Wild with correct strategy gives a higher average return per ৳100 wagered over the long run than many other casino games. This is not a guarantee of winning — each hand is determined independently, so variance is normal.
abc365's abc365 Casino offers Deuces Wild tables with various pay tables, designed with both new and experienced players in mind.
Basic strategy for beginners
Strategy in Deuces Wild means making the right decision about which cards to hold and which to replace. The guidelines below will help when you are starting out.
- Never discard a deuce. Always hold every 2 card in your hand — discarding a deuce is almost always the wrong decision.
- In a deuce-free hand, first check whether you are close to a Royal Flush or Straight Flush. If you have a four-card Royal Flush draw, hold it.
- If you have a complete Four of a Kind or Full House, hold the entire hand — do not take the risk of drawing new cards.
- If you have Three of a Kind, replace the other two cards. This improves your chances of hitting a Full House or Four of a Kind.
- With one deuce, check whether the other four cards can get you close to a strong hand — look for opportunities to build Three of a Kind or a Straight by adding the deuce.
- With two deuces, look for a Four of a Kind or Straight Flush opportunity in the remaining three cards. If none is available, keep the two deuces and replace the other three.
- Read the pay table first. Different versions at abc365 may have slightly different pay tables — strategy adjusts slightly to match.
Hand priority list
In a deuce-free hand, prioritize in this order: a complete winning hand first, then a four-card Royal Flush draw, then a four-card Straight Flush draw, then Three of a Kind, then a four-card Flush draw.
Balance management
Advice for new players — practice strategy with small bets at first. It is better not to wager more than 1–5% of your balance on a single hand. Read the responsible gaming guidelines.
